There are boys in a band I know touring the US. They're here from Switzerland and I want to send them back with a little something to remember the US, but it has to be fairly inexpensive and on the smaller side to fit in their bags

well they are musicians, so its simple, buy them goodie bags with quintessential US brand accessories. for the guitarists / bassists buy guitar straps, plectrums, strings and whatever other silly trinket you can find - but again I insist, made by an obviously american manufacturer, otherwise it kinda loses its point. For the drummer buy him some drumsticks, wristbands, and so on. Also get a picture of them at some point, in front of a US heritage site of some kind and prior to them leaving get it printed up and in a nice frame (I wouldnt go for a stars and stripes - but that will americanise it so its up to you...that is the point after all). Finally try and get a map, marking out their tour locations and dates.

I have about $300 to spend on some new irons. I am planning on buying used either on ebay or craigslist. I am a 16 handicap, but am moving and learning very quickly with the help of my local pro. Any recommendations on a brand or model would be great. Also can you tell me what the difference is in using graphite and steel (i figure you lose distance with graphite but gain height?). Thanks.
