How Can I Increase My Golf Swing Speed? Also How Can Prevent Bladeing My Short Irons (9-lw)?
I need any tips or tricks to increasing my swing speed
Also I occasionally blade my short irons from 120 yards into the green how can i prevent that THANKS
I'm going to give you the same answer for both questions. When the club passes your hands (flipping your wrists) before impact, you will be both slowing down and exposing the blade to the ball. So the trick is to get you into a good impact position, where the back of the left wrist is flat and facing the target. For practice take an old beanbag or even a pillow to make very small chipping swings into, really feeling that left wrist pressing forward as the club hits the bag. Try to get that feeling when you are hitting your short irons. The other thing you notice is you can't get there if you are falling away from the ball, a very common fault. So make sure that you are moving through the ball to your left side instead of falling backwards. If you can master that your distance will jump.

Which swing trainer is most effective at building overall club head speed and strength?
Is it the Medicus PowerMaximus, Momentus Power Hitter, Momentus Strength Trainer, or the Speed Stick?
Club trainers should be used to improve your swing, some are designed to help with strength but most have other features let me explain. The momentus power hitter will improve your muscle memory faster because of its weight in fact its weight is the key to the product. The primary function of a heavier club is to train you not to release so early at the top of your swing, the added weight makes this possible.
I recommend the power hitter but not the original momentus it is to short and heavy it will mess up your backswing. The speed stick is just stick go get a long stick and there you go.

The Power Club Swing Trainer ... Unleash the Power
Golf Swing – Use A Swing Trigger To Begin Your Swing
One of the most subtle power-robbing things you can do when you address the golf ball before a shot is to stand very rigid. Rigid swings are not fluid, they don't allow for a smooth transition from one stage of the swing to another and, if nothing else, they just don't look good. Being rigid at address can lead to a "herky-jerky" swing that inhibits solid ball contact. Hopefully you have a pre-shot routine that includes some amount of flexing or shoulder-rolling to help loosen you up before a shot. But that is generally done before you address the ball. To help ensure a fluid, easy, free swing once you address the ball you may want to consider adding some sort of trigger movement to start your swing.
What is a trigger movement? Just about any slight movement that does not cause you to assume bad posture or a poor grip that you do just before you start each swing. Some golfers move their hands ever so slightly towards their target before beginning their backswing. Some may turn their head just a "smidge" to the right (for a right handed golfer). Some may draw their back knee (right knee for a right handed golfer) just a bit in toward the golf ball. I have found that on a tee shot it helps me to lift my club just off the ground and hold it about an eighth of an inch off the ground for about one second before starting my takeaway. That way I don't "drag" the club at the beginning of my swing and end up off plane before my club is two feet from my golf ball.
You may already have a trigger movement and don't even realize it. Generally people develop one as much by instinct as by design. If you don't think you have one ask your golfing buddies if they notice something you do just before you start each backswing. Or watch them and see if they use one. If you watch closely you will likely see that almost everyone uses some sort of trigger movement to start each golf backswing.

Golf Swing Dilemma, What Would You Do?
Right Sorry for the long detail, but hope you read on
Ok I have been playing golf for nearly 6 years and my handicap is 15.
I can hit my 7iron around 150-160. My driver can go around 280 with a good shot.
This season is my first real season I have taken golf pretty much very seriously and I have won a couple of competitions at my golf club, and I am in the final of a doubles knockout.
Saying all this....it has been done with a very flat swing, where as I take away I come around my body to far inside and my bad shots hook and I even pull alot. I tend to pull them on par 3s mainly.
I was going along fine with my swing untill back 9 of my game yesterday and I was hitting EVERYTHING with a high left pull.
Of course this could be just a bad round, or I am going to a bad spell.
I am thinking of changing my swing and sorting the proper swing plane. I could get some lessons and sort of go back to basics. Or I can play through it with my flat swing and fix it that way.
What would you do?
I really want to sort the swing out, I went the range today and just can't do it. So I would need to get lessons.
The lower handicappers are saying sort the swing. Where the mid handicappers are saying stick with it because you have been winning like that, and it's just a bad round like everyone does.
I have had plenty of good and bad rounds, but this was the one that sort of said sort the swing out.
Should I get lesson? Get a swing aid like David Leadbetter Swing Letter? Or Stay the same.
When I am at home I can see the correct swing path in my head and it seems really easy. When I try it even though it feels correct, I know it is not.
One other problem to add to my game is I am going away on holiday for 4 weeks soon.
Sorry for the long detail and I would apprecaite anything you can give back to me, please be constructive and as detailed as possible
There could be many small, simple things you could be doing different. So I found this website that should give you all the answers you need. It tells you how to fix a golf hook. It is on the website below.http://golf.about.com/od/golftips/a/fixe…

Are There A Set Of “rules” To Follow When Trying To Build A “perfect” Golf Swing?
How can I separate the good advice from the bad advice? Are there certain principles set in stone that all/most golfers should follow?
Every golf swing is different. You can't say that Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, and Ernie Els have similar swings. They have different results as far as trajectory, direction, spin, etc. and they are all based on physical limitations and repeatable movements.
Good golfers have a preshot routine so they know that they are lined up correctly everytime and that they are in position to hit the necessary shot. Without being sure of this you could be hitting great shots and think that you are pushing or pulling the ball because they are not on target.
The fundamentals as far as how to grip it and where to position your body in different parts of a swing are good on a case by case basis but no swing tip is universal. Take advice from someone who knows and studies the golf swing. Don't take advice from someone who reads a Golf Digest article and thinks that any given tip can be a Cure-all for your swing...
The greatest distance in golf is the 6 inches between your ears.

Trying To Fix My Golf Swing!?
Hey everyone, I've been golfing for some time now but I suffer from a pretty bad slice when using my driver or wood on the tee. I know there could be tons of causes for a slice but I'm pretty sure my main problem in the clubface is wide open when making contact with the ball. I've tried the grip technique but still doesn't help. I might be going out-to-in but not sure. What are some things you might advise or any tips for a good slice fixer would help. Thanks a lot everyone!
Simon
good news. there is only one problem. your swinging outside in. imagine the ball is a clock. 12 o'clock is pointing at the target. when you slice you are hitting around 5 o'clock. a golf ball will slice when it is spinning clock wise. its really tough to hit square on 6 o'clock every time....even the pros dont do it. when you watch pros on tv the ball always looks like it was hit to the right. that's because it is. but its hit between 7 and 8 o'clock with counterclockwise spin. hit the ball to the right and turn your hands over at impact. no good golfer hits the ball perfectly straight every time. you have to learn to control spin. a ball moving left to right is easier to control. as you know a slice is not.
there is no quick fix it takes practice. you can read every golf magazine 1000 times....it will not help. if it did you would not see golfers sharing fairways.
1. tee it high
2.line up with the ball off you left heal.
3. square you club face to the target and you feet 90 degrees to the target.
4. swing the club at so that it makes contact between 7 and 8 oclock.
5. turn the back of your right hand to the sky at impact.
6. practice
slice fixed forever.
How Would You Fix A Golf Shoe To Prevent Swaying In A Golf Swing?
Someone on a previous post suggested , cut the sole and raise it in - and this will prevent a sway in the golf swing. Can somone who has done this be a little more descriptive on how to do this?
Please, spare the suggestions on lessons.
hi. take the shoe . right shoe . the shoemaker puts a small piece of plastic . 3 inches long . 3/4 inch hi9gh. at the back of the shoe to the sarch. this causes legs to stay stable, forces right knee to stay stable , and foot connected to rthe ground . it does work. please stay away from shoemakers in a mall just go to a small shop. a very high number of medical staff have the same thing done to thier shoes. when you tell the shoemaker what it is for. he will understand. it is a very simple illegal adjustment . the shoemaker will have you wait . cost under ten bucks. go for a walk before playing with the brace. after two months you could have it removed . there were shoes built this way early 90s . they worked so usga banned them . ken venturi, ben hogan, sam snead and byron nelson to name a few used this method . good luck . sorry spelling eyes screrwed up from cancer hack saw surgery .
Left Arm Golf Swing Analysis?
i just recently started to play golf and i consistently and accurately hit 200-250 yard and my swing isn't very good its almost a good swing but my left arm is almost completely bent like when i play baseball and im almost positive it is messing with the timing of my weight transfer so should i take the risk of ruining my ugly but effective swing to make it better and gain more yards or should i just be happy with how i swing
Although never having played baseball I have always had a baseball grip. This was changed around 2 years ago to a more widely accepted Vardon grip by my pro at my course.
I used to be a 16 handicapper with no chance of EVER getting any better due to the restrictions this grip placed on me.
I took the decision to change my grip and this caused me to shoot upto a 23 handicap as my game really suffered initially, however over time I have started to play better, much better and haven't looked back. My game is more consistent and my body and hands are suffering less due to the new "Proper" grip.
I have just got down to a 18 handicap again but with the potential to get to 10/9/8 who knows!!
I suppose the question you've got to ask yourself is: -
Are you the best golfer you can be or want to be?
If you are then carry on as normal, if however you want to improve the grips got to change.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
Regards
What Is The Proper Golf Swing Technique? What Should I Focus On?
I have just started to play golf around 6 months ago, and am absolutely in love with the game. I am 38 years old, in good shape, and really just want to learn a good golf swing technique that will show me the proper way to swing a golf club. Any ideas for a good golf swing technique?
As a golfer who carries a 1.6 handicap and shoots around par, I have 3 things that I feel you need to work on in order to improve your golf swing technique and start playing good golf in a short amount of time.
1. The first thing is to focus on a good grip. This is crucial because it is your only link to the golf club. You want two knuckles showing on the left hand (If you are right handed) and you want to make sure that your grip pressure is light. Gripping the club hard causes tension, which is not good for the golf swing.
2. The second thing that you should work on is your stance and backswing. Make sure that you have a good posture, and that you set up to the ball "like an athelete." This will help you a lot to improve your golf swing technique. You should start your backswing by letting your hands, arms, and shoulders move away from the ball at the same time.
3. The third thing is to start your downsing by rotating, not swaying your front hip toward the ball. This will increase your power and accuracy. Just make sure that you do not start the downswing with your hands, as this is a big no no!
You may want to look at quality golf training manual to get you started with a good golf swing technique. I know this helped me out: http://swing-a-golf-club.blogspot.com
